Dr. Goff treats California auto-accident patients on a lien with a signed agreement. When your office calls, Charlie, Dr. Goff's phone assistant, asks a few short questions.
Our questions
- What was the date of the accident?
- Was the accident in California?
- Was the vehicle insured at the time of the accident?
- Was it on a public road, or private property?
- Has the insurance company accepted liability?
- Has the patient seen any other chiropractor for this?
- Is there an auto policy with medical payments coverage, and what is the claim number?
Every answer can be one word. If an answer is different, Charlie connects you with Dr. Goff, and he decides.
Dr. Goff accepts California auto accidents on public roads, within 90 days of the accident, when the patient's vehicle was insured. Other cases, including slip-and-falls, only when the insurer has accepted liability.
When the questions are clear
- Your name, your firm, and the best email and phone for the case.
- The patient's full name and best phone number.
- The lien agreement and attorney acknowledgment are emailed to you. Dr. Goff sees the patient once both are signed and returned.
- The patient's first visit is the one-hour examination.
Records requests
- Your name, organization, and direct phone.
- The fax or email where the records should go.
- The patient's name and date of birth.
- The claim or case number.
- Which records, and which dates.
- A signed authorization from the patient, or a subpoena.
